- "I saw a painting today, La Char de la Mort, by Schuler. It's a bunch of people being carried off by the Angel of Death. They're all looking around, but she's staring straight at the viewer, looking at you like she can see every sin you've ever commited…"
- —Andrea to Bruce
Andrea Beaumont was born to wealthy businessman Carl Beaumont, and grew up in Gotham City to be an outgoing, optimistic young woman. Andrea would stumble into a chance meeting with Bruce Wayne at her mother's gravesite while the young billionaire was visiting the graves of his own parents. The relationship quickly blossomed into something much more serious, and the subsequent emotions created feelings of doubt and guilt in Bruce as he had spent more than a decade on "the plan" which had prepared his body and mind for his imminent declaration of war on Gotham's underworld. Bruce and Andrea were eventually engaged and planned to marry, but the night Bruce had proposed to her, Andrea walked in on her father having a business deal with gangsters. Unfortunately, Andrea's loyalty to her father was perhaps stronger, since when Carl provoked the wrath of the mobster trifecta, she reluctantly yet faithfully joined him in fleeing Gotham. While done out of misguided kindness, she rejected Bruce's proposal by returning the ring he gave her, along with a note that read a lie designed to avoid making him worry, but it was still a devastating blow that broke his heart, making him return to his original plan of vigilantism.
Incident Reports[]

Trivia[]
- The character of Andrea Beaumont/The Phantasm was an original creation for the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) named after voice director Andrea Romano, first appearing in the animated film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm in 1993.
- The Phantasm is one of many original DCAU characters to appear in the Arkhamverse, such as: Harley Quinn, Nora Fries, Ferris Boyle, Lock-Up, and others that were just referenced.
- In Andrea's letters in Batman: Arkham Origins, she mentions that she is still looking for her father while travelling across Europe. In Batman: Mask of the Phantasm this is a lie as her father was murdered by a nameless gunman working for the Valestra mob, who would later be revealed to be the Joker. It is unknown if her father's fate is different in the Arkhamverse.
- Similarly, after the events of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Andrea uses the Phantasm identity to become a prolific freelance assassin; it is unknown if this is the case in the Arkhamverse.
- Unlike Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Andrea seems to keep in touch with Bruce after she left Gotham City in the Arkhamverse.
