Douglas Zsasz, Sr. was a wealthy former businessman and the father of Victor Zsasz.

History[]

Douglas Zsasz, Sr. was married at some point to his lover, Victoria, with whom he would have a son, Victor. Due to the latter's tendency to ramble for long periods of time, Douglas and Victoria limited the amount of time Victor could interact with them on the telephone, extending to messages left on their answering machine.

Arkham Shadow Incident[]

At the time of the Rat uprising on Independence Day, Douglas and Victoria were wealthy retirees living on an unknown coastline.

Post Arkham Shadow Incident[]

Some years later, Douglas and his wife Victoria died in a boating accident, leaving their son Victor as the head of their international company and beneficiary of the family's wealth, all of which he would squander as he turned to gambling, losing money in competitions around the world. He gradually squandered his entire fortune, ultimately betting everything he owned against the Penguin at the casino of the Iceberg Lounge.

Trivia[]

  • Despite Victor Zsasz's father being referenced in the comics as part of the character's backstory, neither of his parents were ever referred to by name or shown via flashback in any way in the comics, with Batman: Arkham Shadow being the first instance the character is given a name and dialogue.
  • Although Victor's parents were never named in the comics, Victor did have a brother in the comics named Douglas, which would also be the name of Victor's father in the Arkhamverse.
