Incident Reports[]
Arkham Shadow Incident[]
After the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne, young Bruce Wayne was taken in by Dr. Leslie Thompkins who introduced the recently orphaned Bruce to a young Harvey Dent. Bruce was curious about the TV program Harvey was watching and Harvey would tell him of the show's name: The Gray Ghost. Together, the two boys bonded over the ideology of heroism presented by the show.
Arkham Knight Incident[]
Posters with the title "The Ghost in Gray" can be found all over Gotham City.
Trivia[]
- The Gray Ghost was an original creation for the DCAU (DC Animated Universe), first appearing in the episode "Beware the Gray Ghost".
- In the DCAU Simon Trent/the Gray Ghost was voiced by the late Adam West, the actor who played Batman in the 1960s TV series and its associated movie. Bruce Timm and Paul Dini have stated that they would not have made the episode in which he appears if West had turned down the part as they feared he would be offended by an animated parody of the typecasting he reportedly suffered in his later career. West, however, was happy to voice the character.
- The Gray Ghost's appearance is very similar to the Golden Age superhero The Sandman, The Spirit, and the pulp magazine hero The Shadow. The latter of which was one of the many characters that influenced Batman.
- The poster titled "The Ghost in Gray" features the Gray Ghost holding his cape the same way as the Batman: The Animated Series logo.
- In Batman: Arkham Shadow it's shown that a young Harvey Dent was the one who introduced Bruce Wayne to the Gray Ghost TV series, whereas in the DCAU, Bruce Wayne was a fan of the show before the death of his parents and often watched the show on television with his father.
