Katie Burke is the young daughter of Edward Burke, the former owner of Seagate Amusement Park. She contracted an incurable illness and died a terrible death.
Biography[]
Katie was diagnosed with an unknown terminal illness and was checked in by her father into Gotham General Hospital.
Her father would often spend as much time as he could to be with her when he wasn’t working, eventually giving up work completely by the advisory of his daughter’s doctor, Harleen Quinzel. By her suggestion, her father would be inspired to build a theme park based upon his daughter’s drawings with the help of a man she knew named Jack White.
Unfortunately, Katie’s illness would end up worsening and she was likely to die of her sickness. "Jack" then referred her to Dr. Penelope Young, who subjected Katie to unknown special treatments that seemingly stagnated her illness. This would backfire horribly as Dr. Young would end up tripling her dosage by “Jack’s” suggestion.
Katie died due to said overdose, leaving her father in a deep state of depression, resulting in him taking his own life.

Personality[]
Not much is known about Katie's personality, but she seemed to have a very close bond with her father and an active imagination. Given the marine theme of Seagate Park and her drawings of marine animals which her father keeps in his office at the park, it can be inferred that she was interested in the sea and its fauna.
Trivia[]
- The tragedy of her & her father’s deaths seem a dark parallel to that of Batgirl and Commissioner Gordon. The latter attempting to save her father from the likes of Joker who would later shoot her in the spine.
