Marcus Lo is a guard for A.R.G.U.S.

As of the Metropolis Invasion, he is placed in charge of guarding Toyman. He is implied to be an ex-convict as evident by his personal habits.

Personality

Lex Luthor infers that Marcus Lo is a bloodthirsty psychopath, and describes him as being much like A.R.G.U.S.; unconventional, single-minded, and vicious. He does not seem to like Marcus very much. According to Luthor’s notes on him, he has a habit of openly discussing—in graphic and explicit detail—depictions of gore and violence, his interrogations have been deemed “too personal”, possibly even by A.R.G.U.S.‘s standards, and he has a habit of singing supposedly disturbing songs to himself, which not only imply that he was an ex-convict prior to enlisting, but also resulted in other A.R.G.U.S. operatives uncomfortably—and understandably so—avoiding him, save for Amanda Waller. He is seemingly a messy sort, as he allows his uniform to collect dust as he works. He is also implied to have a twisted mind, and is obnoxious as well, as he infers that if Toyman hacked into his brain, he would not like what he found.

Codex

From the Files of Lex Luthor

It's easy to meet a blood-thirsty psychopath and wonder how he managed to rise through the ranks of the government's most esteemed military branch, but if anything, I think Marcus Lo is A.R.G.U.S. working as intended: unconventional, single-minded and vicious.

Whether or not that is a good thing is not for me to decide, though if I were asked to decide, I would deem it "bad". Marcus has successfully alienated the vast majority of his colleagues and compatriots with graphic discussions of gore and violence, too-personal interrogations, and the occasional singing of songs that suggest he may be a serial killer. Though I would never place any faith in anyone like Marcus, Waller must have some purpose for him.

I only wish she kept him outside.

Quotes

  • "Because she’s our ma, you dipshit. Just take her to Mass, make sure she gets her meds."

Trivia

  • His quote in the codex is a twist on the common saying “Measure twice, cut once”.
  • He is almost always complaining on the phone due to his nosy, religious mother or on one occasion, his brother—whose gender can only be inferred from Marcus calling him a gender-specific put down, that is most commonly associated with men—bothering him.
