The Sinestro Corps - named after its founder, Sinestro - also known as the Yellow Lantern Corps is one of the ten Lantern Corps that draw power from the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. Sinestro founded the Sinestro Corps to oppose the Green Lantern Corps and by extension all Green Lanterns. They draw their power from fear as represented by the color yellow, which they harness through use of their Yellow Lantern Rings, so their members are selected for their ability to inspire great fear in others. Their home planet is Qward and their representative entity is Parallax.

- The individual Lanterns are responsible for arranging their replacements if they are near retirement or death. If the Lantern dies before that obligation is met, the ring will find and seek another to be trained on its own.
- When the oath of corps is cited by Sinestro himself, he says "… burn like my power…" instead of saying "his".
