The Special Combo Bat Swarm is a combat upgrade in Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins.

Story[]

It is used to stun all enemies for a short period of time making it like the Batmobile's level one EMP blast. It is effective especially in combat challenge maps as stunning several enemies at once using it, particularly at a high combo, can increase the score quickly. The Special Combo Bat Swarm is more of a defensive move used against large crowds, however with enough uses, it can become offensive and knock enemies out. It is effective against normal thugs, whether they are carrying weapons such as guns and Stun Batons or not, Titan henchmen, Martial Artists, Shiva's Elite and Talia's Elite Guard, the Abramivici Twins, and the Enforcers. It is ineffective however against armored henchmen and bosses such as Deathstroke and Shiva.

It can be obtained in City and Origins from the combat subsection of the upgrades menu. It was removed in Batman: Arkham Knight. The move was exclusive to Batman.

The Special Combo Bat Swarm adds 1 combat multiplier, then rewards 50 points per multiplier. It counts as 1 Combat Variation.
