The University of Gotham is an educational institution serving Gotham City. Established at some point before 1910, the university is most notable for its botany and bio-chemistry programs.

Incident Reports[]

Before Arkham Origins Incident[]

In 1910, Cyrus Pinkney found rare plants underneath Blackgate Island which he planned to share with the university's botany department.

Before Arkham Shadow Incident[]

Around a century later, Dr. Pamela Isley and a rival botanist, Dr. Jason Woodrue, worked together to submit a grant proposal to the Wayne Foundation's highly-sought Alec Holland Memorial Grant. The proposal was for a new bio-chemistry wing for the university. The pair won the grant, and Isley promised to "engineer a plant species that'll scrub the earth clean again". Woodrue was quick to add that these species would "exist in harmony with human life", and commented that "her passion for the natural world gets away with her".

Dr. Jonathan Crane held a teaching position at the university and was conducting voluntary research studies on fear. He was let go, however, after discharging a firearm in a lecture hall as a practical demonstration on fear. He found a new position as head of psychiatry at Blackgate Prison and continued his research with the prisoners there. His research was aided by a donation of rare plants from the university's botany department.
