The film's story follows a comical metahuman named Harry Cavatica, who, with help from a team of superhero misfits, is on the hunt for an unknown villain that used his appearance details to frame him for murder, while also trying to figure out an evil plot being orchestrated by The Joker, who has seemingly returned from the grave in a blind quest for unexplained revenge.

Story[]

1 year after Batman seemingly died following the revelation of his true identity, Gotham has been in the devastation of a crime wave, almost every superhero in the world has disappeared while others were killed by the Suicide Squad, and the people of Gotham have eventually lost hope in heroes. Meanwhile, Harry Cavatica, a 35-year-old monster with the physiology and personality of a cartoon character who has been framed for murdering criminals, is searching the City for the true culprit behind these deaths. Harry is also a superhero fan who dreams of being just like his idol, Batman, and believes that insanity can be used to help mankind, but views the possibility of the superhero life for him as just an impossible dream. But when the Dark Knight's arch-nemesis and Harry’s former best friend, The Joker, returns from the dead to exact his revenge on Gotham, as he believes that its fractured society was responsible for creating the criminal scum that were complicit in Batman’s force into suicide, Harry, A.K.A. Mutatron sets out to stop him, with help from a mysterious and shy stranger named Charlene Walter, who also happens to be the daughter of an ex-crime boss, and a victim of the Arkham Asylum TITAN project that took on the mantle of The terrorist known as The Arkham Knight to make The Knight into a symbol of Justice and Honor. And with the help of other misfits like The Batman of an alternate dimension, Reformed crime boss Harley Quinn, Former member of the disbanded Justice League and nightwatcher superhero Cyborg, Red Hood, the vigilante who was formerly known as The first Arkham Knight and retired Jewel thief Catwoman, Harry will need to gain Gotham's trust in order to not only clear his name and save Gotham from complete extinction, but also restore people's faith in superheroes and prove that even insanity can save the world, while also realizing his destiny of becoming the next Defender of Gotham City.

Cast[]

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Cavatica/Mutatron, a deranged superhuman powered the physiology and personality of a manic cartoon character who's been framed for murder by an unknown culprit.

Anne Hathaway as Charlene Walter/The Arkham Knight, a former test subject of an early version of the TITAN formula who adopts the Arkham Knight persona to make the Knight into a symbol of honor and justice. She works with Harry to help him clear his name in exchange for a cure for her condition.

Robert Englund as Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow, a criminal that uses a hallucenogenic agent to make his victim's worst fears come alive and the man responsible for Batman's death. He was kidnapped by a vengeful Joker prior to the film's events.

Bryan Cranston as George Walter, Charlene's father.

Will Arnett as James Gordon, the GCPD Commissioner-turned-Mayor of Gotham.

Nolan North as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, a british crime boss.

Troy Baker as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, a former district attorney-turned-duality obsessed criminal and Jason Todd/Red Hood, a lethal vigilante crime fighter. Jason works with Harry to help him in exchange for Harry to convince the government to grant him amnesty for his crimes.

Tara Strong as Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn, a former psychiatrist who is The Joker's ex-girlfriend and Harry's new love interest. Harley fell in love with Harry when she saw his cartoonish fighting style and works with him so that he can teach her how to be a hero, so that she could make amends with the society she long abandoned.

Awkwafina as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, a retired jewel thief and Harry's occupational rival. She works with Harry because Harry promised to rehabilitate her and help her cope with the loss of Batman in exchange for helping him.

Willem Dafoe as The Joker, a psychopathic criminal who has been long dead for 2 years, but has returned and started a quest for blind vengeance.

Richard Kind as Harvey Bullock, a GCPD lieutenant with an oafish personality.

Steve Blum as Waylon Jones/Killer Croc, a beastly criminal enforcer with the appearance of a humanoid crocodile.

Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, an undead brute/crime boss that was resurrected in Slaughter Swamp years ago.

David Cross as Edward Nigma/The Riddler, a supervillain that builds deadly contraptions to outsmart those who, in his view, are intellectually inferior to him.

Thomas Haden Church as Batman, a Gotham City superhero that died a year prior. This version, however, is technically from an alternate dimension that is at a mercy of an evil version of The Justice League called the Crime Syndicate. Batman reluctantly works with Harry to help him clear his name so that, in exchange, Harry would provide him with the means to save his dimension.

Mark Rolston as Deathstroke, a genetically enhanced assassin and former war hero.

Bruce Willis as Lex Luthor, the CEO of LexCorp and arch-nemesis of the deceased Superman. Luthor's company is currently working on an anti-crime project that could replace the Justice League.

Gemma Chan as Mercy Graves, Lex Luthor's bodyguard.

Crispin Freeman as Firefly, a serial arsonist armed with a flamethrower and jetpack.

Terry Crews as Victor Stone/Cyborg, a half man, half machine superhero and former member of the disbanded Justice League.

Samuel L. Jackson as Aaron Cash, the new commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department.

Hayden Panettiere as Rovette, a stray cat and Harry's adopted daughter. Not much is really known about Rovette, as she doesn't want to discuss her past for unknown reasons.

Danny Trejo as Bane, an authoritarian criminal and wanted terrorist who uses Venom to enhance his strength.

Trivia[]

  • This film takes place 8 months after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, and it's spin off, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
  • The film features the debut of The Mighty Mutatron and his inclusion as a new DC Comics character.
  • The concept of the the titular character was heavily and loosely inspired by the 2019 superhero horror film, Brightburn. since that film was a take on the Superman origin story detailed in more explicit horror and how Brightburn became a villain, which is the opposite of what Superman is, Mutatron's origin story is a comedic take on the Joker's origin story and that like Brightburn, Mutatron became the opposite of what The Joker is, which the opposite is being a comical superhero.
